City of Wylie

Many residents and prospective buyers of real estate in the City of Wylie covet its small town and semi rural feel. As a northeastern suburb of Dallas, Wylie was once solely located in Collin County but now extends into neighboring Dallas and Rockwall counties. It is located on State Route 78 about 20 miles northeast of central Dallas and centrally located between nearby Lavon Lake and Lake Ray Hubbard.

Most of the Collin County portion of Wylie is served by Wylie Independent School District. A small portion in Collin County is served by Princeton Independent School District and Plano Independent School District. The Dallas County portion is served by Garland Independent School District. The Rockwall County portion is served by Rockwall Independent School District.

Wylie’s quaint and nostalgic downtown area is a perfect setting for many events held year round, and also serves as a major draw for prospective buyers of real estate in the City of Wylie.
